On 21st June, 2015 'International Yoga Day' was celebrated where in college students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff performed various Yogasanas. PPT presentation on Yoga was also given by Prof. Anil Gupta.On 11th August, 2015 First Aid Day was celebrated and N.S.S. Volunteers distributed First Aid Boxes in Z.P. Schools in Badlapur. On 15th August, 2015 celebrated Independence Day. On 24th August, 2015 N.S.S. volunteers distributed 680 notebooks in Z.P. Schools nearby Badlapur. On 25th August, 2015 N.S.S. orientation was conducted and on the same day an Advisory meeting by N.S.S. Area Co-ordinator Prof. Nilesh Karbhari was held. On 26th August, 2015 organized Blood Donation Camp in association with Bloodline Blood Bank with collection of 46 blood bags. N.S.S. volunteers participated in tree plantation program at Satkarma Aashram Badlapur and planted 60 plants. Mr. Manjit Malith and Ms. Neha Kolhe of S.Y.B.Com participated in Five-Day Leadership Training Programme at Prakash Bhoir Farm House, Mhaskal Village, Kalyan, Distict:-Thane from 6th September , 2015. 8th  – 13th  September, 2015 International Literacy Week was celebrated by N.S.S. unit by organizing Essay Competition, Poster Competition and Presentation competition. N.S.S. Foundation Day celebrated on 24th September, 2015. Anti-Drug/Liquor/Tobacco rally was organized on 1st October, 2015. Cleanliness of college campus and adopted area under “Swachh Bharat Mission” was undertaken on 2nd October, 2015. N.S.S. volunteers participated in 'International Peace Day' (Bhajan Sandhya) at Gateway of India on 2nd October, 2015. Lecture on Road Safety was organized on 30th November, 2015. Aids Awareness Rally was organized on 1st December, 2015.

Celebrated Yuva Divas (National Youth Day) with speech given by Yogesh Kulkarni. Also Essay Competition on views of Swami Vivekananda on the role of youth in the development of nation was organized. Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January, 2016. One-Day District Level Programme “JAGRUTI 2016” with Rangoli Competition was organized on 15th February, 2016.

N.S.S. District Level Program “JAGRUTI 2016”


As an annual feature, N.S.S. unit of Bharat College organized a district level program “Jagruti 2016” on 15th  February, 2016. On this occasion Rangoli Competition on various social and environmental issues was held. In all nine students from nearby colleges participated in the competition. Mrs. Smita Patil (Head of CS &IT Department) acted as a judge for the said competition. The first three winners were declared by the judge and were awarded with certificates. Participation certificates were given to all other participants.




N.S.S. unit of Bharat College of Arts & Commerce, Badlapur (W) has organized a seven-day residential camp at 'AnandVihar' Jambhilghar village, Boradpada Road, Badlapur (W) from 19th  December to 25th December, 2015 with the total participation of 48 volunteers and all the staff members under the guidance of our leader Principal Dr. Sunil Sharma. Various activities were undertaken making the camp a real learning experience. On 19th  December, 2015 at 9.30 a.m. the camp was inaugurated by Mr. Sukhdev Gaikwad, Sarpanch of Jambhilghar Village, Mr. Ramesh Kukreja, owner of 'AnandVihar' and other staff members present on the occasion. In his inaugural address Mr. Sukhdev Gaikwad enlightened all the volunteers with emphasis on role of the youth in building the nation. Mr. Ramesh Kukreja also enlightened volunteers with emphasis on meditation and knowing yourself.




1. Cleaning of camp premises & Jambhilghar village by volunteers and creating awareness about

cleanliness among villagers.

2. Preparation of soakpits (Shosh-khadda) by volunteers in village.

3. Dental checkup camp in support with Dr. Harishikesh Karmarkar (MDS) was organized in which volunteers & villagers were benefited.

4. Street plays on various social issues like save child girl, awareness about health etc.

5. Expert lectures on Yoga & Meditation, Blind Faith & Superstitions, Stress Management etc. by inviting eminent personalities were organized.

6. A brief survey of the village was carried out.


      The camp has actually served the purpose of making the volunteers socially responsible. They practiced the way of life that fulfilled the needs of the society and actually acquaint themselves with rural life. This Seven-Day Residential Camp gave them a lesson of serving the society & self-reliance.
